about

Despite amazing technological advances and massive improvements in the living standards of the majority of the worlds population, slavery has not gone away. Big companies pay people so badly that workers can't afford to live decent lives, relying on foodbanks and benefits to survive. Huge numbers of people are imprisoned for minor offences to feed a vast privatised prison industry. People are trafficked and kept in debt bondage. Children are put to work mining precious minerals and metals to fuel our addiction to technology. There are more slaves in the world today than during our colonial past. When the top 1% own more than half of the worlds wealth, we are all slaves.
Freedom from violence, tyranny and exploitation is a fundamental human right and the only way to achieve this is through greater equality. Traffickers need to be stopped. Big business needs to pay fairly. Monopolies need to be broken up. Capital flight and globalized financial markets need their wings clipped. Wealth needs to redistributed and the indiscriminate exploitation of planet and people needs to stop
